The best padel rackets for beginners
When you are starting out, the best racket is the one that helps you make clean contact and play longer rallies — not the one the pros use. A forgiving, easy-to-handle racket will improve your game faster and is kinder on the arm.
What to look for in a first racket
- Round shape: the biggest, most central sweet spot, so mishits still go in.
- Low or medium balance: head-light rackets are easy to control and maneuver.
- A soft core and often a fiberglass face: softer, more comfortable, more forgiving.
- A sensible price: excellent beginner rackets exist under €100 — you do not need a €300 frame.
Avoid diamond-shaped, head-heavy, all-carbon “power” rackets at this stage. They demand precise timing and can be harsh on the elbow if you catch the ball off-centre.
Good beginner rackets
These are round, forgiving and affordable. The Kuikma PR500 and Nox X-One Evo are easy first rackets; the Head Zephyr and Adidas RX are comfortable options a little above entry level.
